  1. I remember HATING the Presidential Fitness Test. The mile was the one I hated the most. Everything else, if I failed that was it, but at my school if you didn't do the mile within a certain amount of time you had to do it again. Well, I was on my second mile and my gym coach was really pushing me to beat the time so I wouldn't have to do it a third time. He ran the last lap with me cheering me on and as soon as I finished I puked my lunch up. Since I threw up at school I got to go home early and when my mom found out that they were making me run as "punishment" for failing my test she hit the roof. Oddly I never had to run the mile run again after that. It wasn't long after that though that the test was phased out.
    Looking back, I don't know if that was normal to make students keep running if they didn't beat the time, but I remember a LOT of kids hating it.
